The Gospels are more than a collection of inspiring episodes—they are a cohesive, unfolding story of the life, mission, and message of Jesus Christ. In The Story of the Gospels, we will walk through the narrative of Jesus’ ministry from beginning to end, learning how to connect the dots across Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. By paying attention to geography, chronology, and the corporate purpose behind His ministry, this course will equip you with practical tools to study the Gospels as a unified story. You’ll discover how key moments—such as John the Baptist’s call to repentance, the Feeding of the Five Thousand, the Transfiguration, and the final journey to Jerusalem—fit together in God’s plan and reveal the heart of Jesus.
Far from being ancient history, the story of the Gospels speaks directly to us today. Jesus lived in real places at real times, and the narrative of His life reveals not only His compassion and power, but also His purpose and mission for the world. Understanding the flow of the Gospels helps us move beyond a fragmented view of Jesus’ ministry and see the depth of His identity as Messiah, Son of God, and Lord. As we learn to internalize the story through prayer, we are invited to follow Him more faithfully, to recognize the fruits of true repentance, and to anchor our lives in His Word.
In a world of confusion and competing narratives, the Gospels remind us of the one story that truly matters: God’s redemption revealed through His Son. Studying the Gospels as a living, cohesive narrative strengthens our faith, clarifies our hope, and draws us into deeper communion with Christ. This course will help you not only understand the story of Jesus more clearly, but also live it out more fully in your own walk with Him.
The live classes for this course will be Tuesdays, September 9th and 16th, and Monday, September 22nd at 6pm CST.
